Marta Z aerial electric violin cover of Mine by Bazzi I couldn't miss the opportunity to film in the gorgeous Hawaiian Island of Kauai. I've been drawn to small subtropical islands my entire life and I'll probably end up living on one of them eventually. But in the meant time, here is a little slice of paradise. I camped out in a tent around the island and brought my silks and violin with me to rig up on trees on the beach and practice. Decided to make a video of it with a wonderful local videographer, and voilà... Hi, Marta Z here. Such a beautiful evening outside and it's my mom's birthday, so I had an impromptu idea to surprise my neighbors with a balcony concert during the quarantine and to gift the video to my mom, since I couldn’t travel to see her. This is my electric violin take of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. (And yes, so many of you comment on my feet…My feet are fine. We have pollution here. Since it was a spur of a moment idea and I rushed to set up all my equipment before the sunset, I didn’t know the balcony had so much soot on it, therefore my feet got dirty from playing barefoot for half an hour - again, courtesy of LA pollution setting on my balcony. Subscribe for more of my later balcony concerts with maybe some cleaner feet ;) lol The video I posted for my mom went viral on FB. Hello Darlings! Hope you are having a good week, here is another version of my original song Diamond from my album Violin Gems (available on CD or digital download, see link below ;). I wrote and recorded this uplifting album during the dark times of the quarantine. Each song is inspired by and named after a gem stone. Story time. I've always like stones in general, I have a nice little collection of pretty stones from special places I visited around the world. I enjoy looking at them and saying to myself: "hey, I got this rock from an awesome place... I can't remember which place anymore, but it must have been great, since I went through the trouble of picking that rock and taking it home with me".
